Clay County, TN is located in the western part of the state near Jackson. It was formed from parts of Jackson and Overton Counties in 1870 and has an estimated population of 7,700 people. Clay County offers a range of recreational opportunities including golfing at The Retreat Golf Course or camping at Sycamore Creek Park. There are also a variety of historical sites to explore such as John A Race Cemetery or Chisholm Mill / Chisholm Springs Historic District built in the 1820s & 1830s.
