Scott County is located in central Mississippi along the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. The county has a population of about 28 thousand people and contains many small towns such as Forest, Morton and Sebastopol. The most populous town in Scott County is Forest which serves as the seat for the county government offices. Scott County offers visitors plenty to do outdoors including visits to Nanih Waiya Mound Historic Site or canoeing down Black Creek Wildlife Management Area.
