Decatur County is located in southwestern Iowa and borders Missouri to the south. It has a population of over 8,400 people and covers an area of 576 square miles. Decatur City is the county seat while Grand River is the largest town. Agriculture continues to be the primary industry in this area with corn, soybeans and hay being grown on most farms in the county. Moreover, Decatur also homes two rivers: Grand River and Chariton River making it great for fishing activities too.
