Stone County is situated in north-central Arkansas and has a population of just over 12,000 people. This beautiful mountainous region was established in 1873 and its county seat can be found in Mountain View. There are many sites for outdoor recreation opportunities such as hiking, camping and fishing throughout the area along the White River and Sylamore Creek. Stone County also boasts several historic sites including Blanchard Springs Caverns and its cultural heritage sites like Ozark Folk Centers Music Heritage Stage.
